MY CRAWLSPACE IS SILENT HILL.

I can’t afford to hire anyone to clean this, or fix the plumbing, or anything at all. I am begging you for your help, Tumblr. Please, please chip in anything you can, I don’t know what to do.

Hi.

I’m 23, I was laid off with no warning in December 2011, and have worked part time gigs since. My boyfriend lost his job two weeks ago, also with no warning. We have no savings and very little to spare right now.

Today I discovered that the crawlspace in my house is full of standing water, black mold on fallen insulation, leaking and rusted pipes, snails, mouse feces, and the now soggy remains of bait the exterminator put down for the mice infestation we battled with this past year. (I had to clean up the attic myself with a shop vac, because we couldn’t afford to have it professionally sanitized. It was a nightmare, but nothing close to this.)

A friend of ours moved in to help us pay our bills, and saw that there was a spot in the guest closet where the carpet was sodden. We tried to figure out where it was coming from, but it’s impossible to move through the crawlspace without kneeling in shit-sludge.

I can’t afford a plumber. I can’t afford a cleaning crew. We’re barely going to be able to pay the mortgage this month; we’ve been taking odd job and lawncare gigs on Craigslist to earn whatever we can.

Please, please, PLEASE help. I am begging you.

Thank you,

Kay

Yup.  I’m said friend who found the sodden carpet in the guest room I’m staying in.  Thankfully I found it pretty quickly and was able to dry it relatively fast.  Here’s hoping that nothing will happen to make it wet again because then risk of mold could become more of a real and pressing matter.

Please help.  Any little bit will be appreciated and used towards getting this fixed.  It IS a pressing matter that needs to be addressed as soon as possible.

Thank you so much.

NOBODY should have to live with this problem. not only is it disgusting, it’s potentially dangerous for your health, especially if you have asthma or severe allergies

What’s that!? You live in the Southern California area and absolutely need an adorable Corgi puppy?

Well look no further.

My brother and his girlfriend’s two wonderful Corgis had some babies. They had six in all; one boy and five girls. I was the one helpin’ out Mazy momma during her labor, so these pups are 100% Devyn certified.

But now there are only three beautiful little girls left. Two reds and one tri.

Please. Look into your heart and let one of of these adorable little puppies into your..heart.

On December 13, 2011, Mark Gomes, a school bus driver was getting ready for work when ICE agents banged on his door at 5:30 A.M. and arrested him on old immigration charges, separating him from his family. His 14-year-old United States citizen daughter, who suffers from epilepsy, has been severely affected both physically and emotionally by her father’s detention and possible deportation.

He is now in North Georgia Detention Center and could be deported any day.

Mark Gomes and his wife fled Bangladesh in 1991 due to fear of persecution as a religious minority. They applied for asylum but the cases were denied despite what his wife says was a very strong case, “It lacked physical evidence”. They appealed the case but were ultimately ordered removed in 2005. For the past four years they have been complying with ICE and reporting with the local ICE office under an order of supervision. Now ICE is trying to deport Mark to Bangladesh even though he had been cooperating with them and reporting in regularly.

Mark is a loving father and husband. He is a vibrant and beloved leader in his church community and in the Bengali community in Raleigh, North Carolina. Mark has no criminal records, and has been paying taxes for the past twenty years.

He is a bus driver for Wake County Public School System.  He is missed by his coworkers and the students he transports safely to their homes.  He has taught the students on his routes greetings and how to count in Bengali.

If he is deported it will cause great hardship for his family. Not only will the family be separated from their father, but also as the family’s main breadwinner his family would face economic hardships, including the possibility of losing their home. His daughter requires constant care due to the unpredictable nature of epilepsy. Stressful events, such as this can trigger epileptic episodes.

Mark is like thousands of our community members, neighbors and co-workers who are subject to being detained and deported, deemed guilty by immigration status.

The family is asking for ICE to use their discretion to allow Mark to stay in the United States with his family. Please take action to stop Mark Gomes’ deportation and keep the Gomes family together and share it with your friends and colleagues.

This petition asks for 5,000 signatures. I’ve seen what tumblr can do, PLEASE sign this and reblog!

Come on guys.  This needs way more signatures!
